Another apparently senseless thing I'm doing
I’m saving corks. One of the markets downtown collects them. “Recycles” them. Honestly, I didn’t know cork was endangered, but as soon as I found out, I began filling all available receptacles with them. I like to do my bit. I have flower vases in the cellar full of corks, cookie tins and plastic bags. I add about two or three corks a week to my collection. The problem being that I never seem to get around to taking them to the store. If God decides to flood the world again, and I understand this is not a ridiculous notion, I hope he chooses to let me know. I could build one badass cork ship.

I save them, too, but have no idea where to take them!
Any excuse to open a bottle of wine, eh?
As a beer can conservator, I fully empathise.
It's not drinking wine - it's a
rescue operation.
If you can't figure out where to take them, you could glue them to a flat square surface and make a trivet. I did this and it is quite attractive.
I find many things in my life I am good at getting started but the actual follow through to the end is not always there.
Finishing a bottle of wine and saving the cork sounds like something I could do.
my trivet will be the size of a raft. it won't fit on my table! but there's an interesting idea....
bob - uncorking is easy. escorting the cork into its afterlife is the difficult part.
Gifts. Many, many gifts.
