Neruda

Wouldn't it be great if poems fetched million-dollar movie deals? Then poets wouldn't resort to writing novels. (Come on, you know you've thought about it.)
Well it could happen with a big enough budget: "The Saddest Lines".

Get a look at the male lead. Looks just like Mel Brooks, no?

yeah, I agree, re Mel.
What I'm amazed at is that the poem still holds up even with the funny/corny/silly images of the video!

That's it! 'Finally the thing that could raise America's poetic lteracy -- or more accurately bolst it out of almost-complete illiteracy into at least the sandtraps or optimistic margins. Sarah, you're a genius!

What an interesting idea. I like the low-budget approach here. Thanks for posting this SarahJ.

Here's my short list of poems I'd like to see ...

"Crusoe in England," Bishop
"Home Burial," Frost
"Diving into the Wreck," Rich
"Lying in a Hammock at William Duffy’s Farm in Pine Mountain, Minnesota," Wright
