about the threatened exodus

I can't really complain about blogger. I mean, it's free for starters, so I find it hard to get pissed off about the occassional breakdown. Also the blogger bar as "a word from our sponsor" doesn't bother me much. On the other hand, rupert murdoch owns myspace so i'd be happy to have a private fistfight with whomever thinks that's the lesser evil. And I have a friend with a yahoo blog and you can't comment on her blog unless you have a yahoo blog, too, which strikes me as a doomed and pathetic marketing ploy.
If you're into layout I understand going elsewhere, but if you're a writer of the mostly non-multimedia type, I don't see the problem. I've never been much of a complainer, though. And with the rest of my life going on I don't have the energy to pack up and migrate.
just thought i'd say.

well, I'm glad you didn't migrate - just thought I'd say. =)

I have not had any trouble with Blogger. Nor have I seen anybody threatening to migrate. I must just be out of it. :-)

Sarah, I'm staying put here too - have visited friends in myspace and no way like the whole scene there (apart from it being a Murdock sidekick - didn't know that)- yeah, yahoo's marketing ploy sounds doomed.
Glad your not up and going : )

exodus was an exagerration. but i do know one person who closed shop because of the blogger bar, and many who complain or even express true outrage when blogger "closes for maintenance." I can understand it's inconvenient, but it's not like anyone has paid for the service.
if I had to put up ads, I'd be likely to leave (unless they were, for example, ads for books of my choosing, which I do pretty much with library thing anyway). or if I were asked to, choke, pay!
